In a rainbow house (Hagopian Rugs), in a rainbow room (full of amazing textiles), you’ll find Suzanne— bestowing words of wisdom, stories of origin, and full-on love for rugs of every kind. As a third-generation purveyor of rugs, the depth of her knowledge and love for her profession emanates all around her. Stories of her worldwide travels, her dad and grandfather, and her current Ford Estate restoration project are the stuff that dreams are made of. And her namesake, Hagopian Rugs, is a virtual candy store for the eyes, where you can ooh and ah at everything around you. I came for a cover shoot and couldn’t help but fall in love with the raw, unapologetic passion for all things rugs—and for Sue Hagopian, whom I deemed in her cover photo as the Queen of Rugs, who, dare I say, has more than a heart of gold—but rather a heart of rainbow.
